My unsuccessful house in auto cad
Early during this year of Computer Drafting and Design I've been working on a house for my first project, which I will add furniture and other components to next term. The following pictures are of the house I have built in Auto Cad in two different views, Realistic and Wire frame.
Realistic View
This view shows how the house would look if it was a 3D object in real life. During this art of the process i had multiple problems with windows because they would show up on the screen but not be through the actually wall. I figured out this problem by deleting the windows that had a problem and putting new ones in their place. The good thing about this view is I was able to see if there was any problems concerning the walls, windows, and doors that needed to be fixed.
Wire Frame View
In this view, all the separate lines of every part of the house are visible. This view was very helpful when I was trying to line up certain parts of the house with the walls and the slabs that make the floors. I ran into a problem while creating the stairs to reach the second floor when myself and my teacher, Mr. Mike Kalif couldn't figure out how to cut a hole in the second slab so the stairs could go up. This is no longer as I have found out how to create a boundary then use the boundary to cut a hole in the slab; but this was the least of my problems.
Problems with the first draft
After finishing my entire house and trying to put it in 3ds Max I realized that the house was too large compared to my furniture and other components that would go in it. The first dimensions of my house were 100 ft by 50 ft by 22 ft which was extremely large compared to a normal house. Due to this I had to go back to the drawing board and create a whole new house that was smaller and more realistic.
